Final Fantasy XVI is almost upon us. The series is a personal favorite, and I am very much looking forward to the game coming out on the 22nd. In preparation, I have been revisiting two of the more recent mainline entries, XIII and XV -- more on that later.
For now, a recap of my latest:
I reviewed Advance Wars. It was my first time with the series, and I enjoyed it. One thing I still can't understand is the nearly year-and-a-half long delay of the game. Coming out after Tactics Ogre, too? Ouch.
Two years ago, I gave high praise to SaGa Frontier Remaster. It seemed inevitable that we would get more SaGa ports. So where is SaGa Frontier 2?
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster console launch was met with enthusiasm. I picked up IV for the Switch. My thoughts kept turning to the oft-maligned sequel, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. I recently argued The After Years should not be relegated to the dustbin of games history.
I've never played an Atelier game, and that has finally changed after spending time with Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salsburg. A great art style is up my alley, but time management in games generally stresses me out, and this has been no indication thus far.
Are you a millennial dad playing Diablo IV on early access? Not me, I am trying to finish Soul Hackers 2 before XVI comes out in a few weeks. Don’t even ask me about Zelda. Man, it’s a busy season of games — and summer hasn’t even officially started.
I’ll have more to share soon. What games are you looking forward to this summer?
